The Smith family has been serving the needs of Port Huron area families for over 85 years. We have an extensive history of earning each family’s trust by creating a truly caring and compassionate environment every time we are called to serve. Now in our fourth generation of ownership, we are committed to continuing our long-standing tradition of dedication and excellence.

For over 85 years the Smith family has been a fixture in providing funeral and cremation services in the Port Huron area. The family business was begun in 1919 by Arthur E. Smith who also served many years as coroner for St. Clair County. Arthur B. Smith joined his father in 1943, and he also served the area as county coroner. In 1964 Arthur C. Smith received his license and joined the family business along with his father and grandfather.

In June of 1997 Arthur C. Smith and his son, fourth generation Michael D. Smith, took over the family business. Today, Smith Family Funeral Home continues the long-standing tradition of providing the Port Huron area with dedicated and personal service. Smith Family Funeral Home is a member of both the Michigan Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association.
