North Branch Animal Hospital, established in 1966 in Southfield, Michigan, is a full service veterinary facility striving for excellence in providing medical and surgical care for our patients. In addition we pride ourselves in our desire for client communication.

Our goal and enduring energy is to provide our clients with a trusting, caring, honest, and sincere desire to enable them to enjoy a full, rich, and loving symbiotic relationship with their pets.

We have been proudly serving this community for over forty years. My staff and I desire to play a strong role to tightly bond with our clients. We encourage them to call on us for all their veterinary needs.

Dr. Shulak graduated in 1958 from Michigan State University. He spent two years in the United States Air Force caring for sentry dogs and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain.

As early a 1962, returning to private practice, the pet shop industry heard of his interest in pet birds, and his reputation started to grow.  He is an honorary member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Southeastern Michigan Veterinary Medical Association. He is an active member of the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association.

He is a charter member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians, which was established in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1980.  He is a past board member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians and has been the Michigan Liaison to the A.A.V. for 20 years. He also has attended 26 consecutive national conferences of the A.A.V., held throughout the country.

He enjoys music, theater, and the arts. He belongs to two local community theater groups and has performed in more than 35 shows including comedies, dramas, and musicals.
